AEB: Russia’s new car, LCV sales fall 79% to 32,706 in April
MOSCOW, May 11 (PRIME) -- Russia’s sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) plummeted by 78.5% on the year to 32,706 in April, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The April data does not include figures from BMW and Mercedes-Benz Rus as the companies have changed the frequency of publications of their sales information from a monthly basis to quarterly releases, AEB said.
In January–April, sales of new cars and LCVs in Russia dropped by 43% to 293,846 vehicles.
Sales of Lada cars in Russia by car producer AvtoVAZ plunged by 78% on the year to 8,506 units in April and by 50% to 61,218 cars in January–April, AEB also said.
